Mike and Steve came together to build a unique scientific communications agency that recognized how to utilize the cutting edge to keep clients in sync with the changing dynamics of the marketplace. Together with their previous entrepreneurial, client side, and agency experience they bring a understanding of how to effectively communicate and efficiently achieve client objectives.

Stephen M Casey
Managing Partner
Steve is an experienced early stage and growth healthcare company executive with an entrepreneurial side. In over 30 years of commercial and business development experience, he has created several business successes including a specialty pharmaceutical company which he successfully exited through a sale to another company. Starting his career in sales, Steve rapidly progressed through various marketing roles and into executive management. Known for creative and unique solutions, he has set the stage and driven the launch of new entities and products.
As a healthcare commercialization specialist, Mr. Casey helps clients create an environment for products to succeed by designing successful strategies that optimize market value. He has been both a client and a solutions provider for Stakeholder Relations initiatives, Publication Strategy, and information management programs.
Steve holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelors of Science from Syracuse University.

Michael A Caso
Managing Partner
Mike's foundation in the pharmaceutical and communications industries was established during his 22 years at Marion Laboratories/Marion Merrell Dow. Starting in sales, he progressed through sales training, sales management, professional education, and creative development responsibilities. During his tenure with Marion, Mike established non-traditional arenas for the company’s marketing efforts, including minority health, artificial intelligence, and managed care. He has authored numerous articles in the trade press on these topics.
Prior to starting Nexus Communications in 2002, Mike held executive management roles with 3 global communications organizations, establishing healthcare communication and medical education divisions for them. He has managed teams across multiple therapeutic categories for initiatives in a wide variety of media. His therapeutic experience includes cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgery, infectious disease, and women’s health.
Following the sale of Nexus in 2009 to UK-based Fishawack Communications, Mike held the roles of President, managing the US operations, as well as holding a position on the Board of Directors. During this period of time, Fishawack grew from a mid-sized communications organization to one of the largest independent healthcare agencies, with over 200 full-time staff.
